Plan International UK strives to advance children’s rights and equality for girls all over the world. Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children. We have been building powerful partnerships for children for 80 years and are now active in more than 70 countries.

Our Individual Giving Unit recruits, retains and develops the support of individuals and households in the UK through our core Child Sponsorship proposition, regular giving, legacy marketing and community & challenge event fundraising.

We are looking for an outstanding Supporter Acquisition Manager for a 12 months maternity contract (starting from September), to lead and manage our programme. Working on our key proposition of child sponsorship, this is a fantastic opportunity to work on one of the best individual giving products in the market.

Managing a talented team, working across a diverse portfolio, you will manage, motivate and coach a team of eight, to achieve annual targets and objectives. In the role you will plan, devise and manage the individual supporter acquisition strategies in order to secure long-term income for our work with children. Overseeing clarity and integration of messaging, you will be responsible for the development of the child sponsorship experience, ensuring the quality of sponsorship acquisition. You will also be responsible for community & challenge events fundraising

This is a crucial leadership role in the Individual Giving Unit, so we will need you to have significant experience of working in a fundraising/marketing environment and of using direct marketing techniques and developing strategies in this area.  You will have previously managed a team and be able to influence change, encouraging others to seek innovative ways to improve the way things are done. As Plan International UK invests in its future, you will need to have experience of managing acquisition of unrestricted regular givers, and will be extremely numerate, with a passion for budgets and reporting.

The deadline for applications is 5.00pm on Wednesday 4 July 2018

First interviews will take place on Thursday 12 and Friday 13 July 2018

Second interviews will take place on Monday 23 or Tuesday 24 July 2018.

Due to the nature of our work with children, we follow rigorous child protection policies and procedures in our recruitment process. As a result, some of our roles are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from joining us as an employee or volunteer; this will depend on the circumstances of any offences.
