Headlines Craniofacial Support is recruiting its first Charity Director to embed a revised mission for the organisation and provide inspirational leadership.  Are you a senior manager looking for a new challenge and can you proactively lead the growth of a small charity, supporting children and adults born with rare craniofacial conditions particularly craniosynostosis,  into a nationally recognised organisation?

Headlines Craniofacial Support is a UK-based registered charity that provides a range of information, advice and support to individuals and families affected by craniosynostosis and other rare craniofacial conditions.

Around 350 children are born with craniosynostosis each year in the UK. Craniosynostosis is a condition where two or more of the plates in the skull fuse prematurely, and it requires cranial surgical intervention from a young age. Syndromic craniosynostosis which includes conditions such as Apert, Crouzon and Pfeiffer Syndromes are even rarer and leads to additional complications including facial differences, physical, hearing and sometimes learning disabilities, and often the need for extensive further surgery.

Headlines has over 1,600 members who receive regular newsletters, access to events such as the Family Weekend, Conference and Day Outs, Headline News magazine, access to private social media groups, and helpline advice.

A new position has arisen due to the growth of the charity, to help lead the charity’s activities and further development.

Key Responsibilities

As the senior executive with day-to-day responsibility for the charity and staff, the Charity Director of Headlines Craniofacial Support will also work closely with the Chair and Trustee Board to provide leadership and operational management of the charity. Specifically, he/she will:
