Maggie’s has reached a pivotal stage in its evolution with the launch of our Five Year Plan to continue on a trail-blazing path to be Everyone’s Home of Cancer Care. By 2022 the objective is to have built 30 amazing cancer caring Centres at NHS hospitals around the UK, to have raised public awareness of the life-changing support we provide to people affected by cancer, and be supporting over 400,000 Centre visitors each year.  To do this we will develop our revenue funding to fuel the support our expert teams provide from each Maggie’s Centre as well as the capital income to fund the building of our new Centres.

The Partnership Development Manager will be responsible for driving significant income growth from corporate partnerships, taking Maggie’s national partnership proposition to big businesses to achieve challenging but achievable targets.  The priority focus of this role is new business. The post-holder will be someone who thrives on creativity and proactive cultivation and who can draw upon their track record of winning significant partnerships. This role is about putting Maggie’s on the map with major employers and brands. The post holder will be confident engaging cold contacts as well as working with our extensive network of supporters and volunteers to develop corporate relationships.

With a concentration of prospect partners based in the capital, and Maggie’s particularly compelling proposition to quadruple our reach in London with new Centres at Barts, Royal Free and Royal Marsden Hospitals, the post-holder is likely to be focused on engaging with decision makers and key corporate stakeholders in and around London. They will also develop and secure new national partnerships of significant value with businesses across the UK, and account-manage complex partnerships to maximize income and engagement. Success in the role will be measured through the number and value of partnerships secured and evidence of a robust pipeline of £30k+ prospects being developed both in-year and for the future.

Reporting into the Head of Partnerships the post-holder will focus on driving corporate income growth from large multi-site partners, major national employers and brands, positioning Maggie’s as a compelling cause for staff and customer fundraising – and as a provider of expert cancer support to employees and employers. A secondary element of the role will involve working with Centre Fundraising teams to develop corporate relationships locally and regionally, sharing leads, undertaking joint approaches, and spotting opportunities for growing and extending existing Centre-focused partnerships.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of four years fundraising experience at a middle or senior level ideally gained in corporate partnerships, major gifts, events or similar fundraising or business development role, as well as a proven track record of cultivating and winning new corporate partnerships and influential relationships with a value of £100k+.

Given the nature of this role we are able to consider candidates from various locations in Southern England. Regular travel to London is essential. We are also able to consider flexible working (working 3 days a week or more) and if this is of interest candidates should state this on their application.

In addition to a rewarding career, Maggie’s offers a range of staff benefits including competitive holiday entitlement, childcare vouchers, workplace pension, option to apply to continue NHS pension, sick pay scheme and travel and cycle loans.
