Proposals Manager

London

About Tony Blair Institute for Global Change:

At the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change we are dedicated to making globalisation work for the many, not the few. We do this by helping countries, their people and their governments, address some of the most difficult challenges in the world today – beginning with those where we think we can break new ground, offering leaders new thinking and new approaches. Our staff – over 200 of them, based all over the world – are working on some of the most intractable problems around issues of co-existence, governance, the peace process in the Middle East and renewing the centre.

Focus of the Role:

With an exciting agenda in place, the Institute aims to strengthen its fundraising operation so that it can support its ongoing development, growth and expanding influence. We are looking to recruit a Proposals Manager to join our small and dynamic team in London to support this effort and diversify our donor base to include a broad range of supporters including Individuals, Foundations and other Institutions. As a member of the Institute, you will be joining an international staff community of c.200 people, based in 4 continents.

Their aim will be to coordinate proposals across multiple internal teams, lead in the development of compelling propositions and write consistent, high quality proposals for our funders. An ability to quickly understand the objectives across the fundraising team as well as the wider Institute’s programmes will be essential.

The successful candidate will have experience in developing and writing proposals - preferably in a fundraising environment - with excellent communication skills and the ability to work across a variety of teams and seniority to develop compelling funding bids and proposals.  The candidate will be used to working on complex, simultaneous projects within tight deadlines, skilled at building relations with stakeholders across and outside an organisation. The successful candidate will have experience with one or more of these three donor groups:  Foundations, or Government donors such as USAID or research funders. The role will also include some award management activity including preparing donor reports. If you are looking for a challenging, fun and exciting opportunity with plenty of room for growth, this role is for you.

With strong interpersonal and organisational skills, you will support the Institute’s donor acquisition strategy, and stewardship programme through strong and compelling proposals to prospective donors.
