Are you a fundraiser looking to take the next step in your career? Would you like to use your direct marketing skills to raise money for exciting projects at a World Top 100 university? We are looking for a creative and experienced individual giving specialist to develop our successful Regular Giving programme for gifts of up to £10,000.

Gifts to the University of Sheffield help find cures to deadly diseases, fund world-changing research, and provide opportunities for students from all backgrounds to experience university by removing financial barriers. As Regular Giving Manager, you will raise funds for all these areas and more – and provide donors giving £1-£10,000 with an exceptional supporter experience.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering a year-round programme of fundraising and stewardship communications – overseeing acquisition and retention activity through direct mail, telephone, digital and some face-to-face. You will manage staff (currently 2 FTE), and take overall responsibility for growing the total number and net value of gifts to the Regular Giving programme each year.

Gifts to the University come from many different sources. Our Regular Giving programme currently receives gifts from over 4,000 donors each year, with more than 1,500 monthly, quarterly and annual supporters in our ‘Silver Arrows’ recognition circle. While the programme currently focuses on our graduates, there are exciting opportunities to develop this to further engage with staff, students, parents and other non-alumni – as well as maximising results from our database of over 170,000 contactable alumni.

Our Regular Giving programme is ambitious and forward-thinking. We currently raise more than £500,000 in new funds each year, and there is huge potential to build on our existing success – both by engaging new audiences and exploring new ways to increase funds.

You will be goal-oriented, an outstanding communicator, and an experienced and effective project and people manager, with the ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders at all levels. You will also be required to provide occasional cover for evening call shifts during telephone campaigns.

We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
