We are currently looking to recruit a full time Centre Promotions Officer to complement our dedicated team within the Visitor Centre at Glenda Spooner Farm, one of four rescue and rehoming centres we have across the UK.  The Visitor Centre is open to the public between the hours of 10.00am and 4.00pm Wednesday through to Sunday.

The Role

To promote the work of World Horse Welfare and ensure all visitors to Glenda Spooner Farm have an enjoyable and informative visit whilst ensuring the visitor centre and cafe is presented in a professional manner at all times.  To increase visitor numbers by initiating and coordinating a range of events and corporate activities.  Increase income including sales of merchandise, food and drink.

You will also be responsible for the recruitment, induction, training and supervision of a group of Volunteers who will be capable of undertaking a variety of tasks.

About You

The successful candidate will have a ‘can do’ attitude as well as a dedicated and flexible approach to their work and hours, be highly organised, personable and approachable with the ability to deal with people at all levels from children to VIP guests.  Ideally you will have worked within a hospitality or events environment and have experience of managing and working within a budget.  You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Hands on equine experience, either personally or professionally, would be highly advantageous.
