Events Assistant (Fundraising)

Position: Special Events Fundraiser 
Location: Nene Hall, Lynch Wood Park, Peterborough (Commutable from Stamford, Oundle, March, Chatteris, Bourne, Spalding, Huntingdon and surrounding areas) 
Job type: Full Time, 12-month Fixed Term Contract Maternity Cover 
Hours: 37.5 hours per week 
Salary: £23,000 to £27,000 depending on experience

About the role: 

The Special Events Fundraiser will work with colleagues in the Philanthropy and Partnerships team to create and develop a portfolio of fundraising and cultivation events targeting high value donors and corporate supporters of the charity. These special events will focus predominantly on creating stewardship, acquisition and fundraising opportunities for the team which will support the departments overall income generation strategy. 

In addition to this, the role will also provide logistical support and expertise on a range of special events within other departments across the charity including their annual research alumni conference. 

About you: 

The successful applicant will have experience in the project management and creation, of high calibre events, together with experience of managing events from concept to delivery, including oversight of the project budget and expenditure. 

You will have highly developed written and verbal communication skills to deliver excellent fundraising / sales pitches, ideas and project updates to a range of audiences in a clear, inspiring and confident way. In addition, you will be confident presenting to large groups and be experienced in managing all event operations on the day, with the ability to confidently coordinate, lead and direct teams of staff and volunteers. 

You will need an understanding of fundraising legislation and the Fundraising Codes of Practice, ideally with a degree level qualification in Marketing or similar or formal fundraising qualification. 

This is a great opportunity to work independently to deliver agreed plans and use your own initiative as well as the attributes of the team. This role is based at their offices in Peterborough and will require you to travel across the UK and work evenings and weekends as required.
