Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser
London, SW8

Are you an enthusiastic fundraising professional seeking your next challenge? Want to support the success of a fresh-thinking charity that is transforming lives through literacy?

If so, this is an amazing opportunity to join us as a Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser and help us to improve reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in the UK’s poorest communities.

About Us

The National Literacy Trust is a national charity dedicated to raising literacy levels in the UK. We run projects in the poorest communities, campaign to make literacy a priority for politicians and parents, and support schools. Our mission is to give young people the literacy skills they need to get a job and lead a successful life.

One person in seven in the UK has poor literacy skills that impact on every area of their life. A child without good reading, writing and communication skills can’t succeed at school, and as an adult they could be locked out of the job market. Poverty doubles the likelihood of literacy failure by the age of five.

We are now looking for a Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser to join us in London and play an important role in our Trusts and Statutory Team.

The Benefits

- Salary of £25,000 per annum
- Pension scheme
- Make a real difference with an ambitious, forward-thinking charity
- 28 days’ holiday per annum plus Bank Holidays and a Christmas closure

This is a brilliant opportunity to support the success of a rapidly-growing organisation that is improving attainment and social mobility in disadvantaged communities across the nation.

You will have the chance to build on your existing experience, act as an advocate for our charity and develop relationships with some of the UK’s leading funders.

The Role

As a Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser, you will help to generate income and manage relationships with trusts, foundations and statutory funders.

In this key role, you will establish new funding resources by carrying out research, identifying and responding to leads and collaborating with colleagues across the organisation.

You’ll research, write and present funding bids, proposals and documentation and ensure that all necessary due diligence is completed.

About You

To join us as a Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser, you’ll need:

- Previous trusts and statutory fundraising experience
- Experience of identifying and responding to commissioning processes
- Excellent communication skills
- A great eye for detail

We’d like to hear from you if you’ve worked as a Trusts Fundraiser, Fundraising Executive, Trusts Fundraising Officer, Fundraising Officer, Charity Fundraiser, Community Fundraising Officer or Grants Fundraising Officer.

The closing date for applications is 10am on Monday the 3rd of December 2018.

The National Literacy Trust is committed to being an equal opportunities employer and aims to ensure that no job applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, ethnicity or religion.
