We’re looking for a proactive individual with fundraising, sales or marketing experience to join us as New Partnerships Executive and help us secure some exciting new and mutually beneficial income generating partnerships.

Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. We’re here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.

Part of an award-winning fundraising division, our High Value Partnerships team covers Philanthropy, Legacy, Trusts & Foundations and Corporate fundraising. New Partnerships contributes to the growth of our voluntary income by securing relationships that support our mission. Many commercial organisations recognise the need to protect housing and build communities. Indeed, this forms a core pillar of many CSR agendas and business models. Over the past year, we’ve built long-term partnerships with B&Q, HSBC and M&S Bank. With your help, we’ll not only meet our ambitious team budget for 2018/19 and beyond, but continue to build upon past successes.

About the role
The challenge here will be to use your expertise and creativity to identify opportunities and engage national companies with a view to securing partnerships with a value of up to £75,000 pa. You’ll also have the scope to develop your own ideas for proposals focusing on COTY and brand activations across a range of sectors. All the while, you’ll have the full support of both your team and your line manager. What’s more, you’ll play an integral role in the team by helping with research, proposal development and pitches across a range of sectors. Monitoring performance and progress against objectives, taking responsibility for early stewardship of incoming enquiries and undertaking income and performance reporting – are aspects of this interesting and varied role.

About you

Someone who can spot the potential for activities that generate income and support for an organisation, you also have the drive to translate ideas into action. You also have experience of selling a cause, product or service and the communication skills it takes to engage a variety of stakeholders. You might already be working in a fundraising function, or possibly in business development. Either way, you’ll be equally effective whether you’re being proactive or reactive, and excited to build a career in corporate fundraising with a leading charity. Knowledge of the different types of corporate partnerships and their business benefits is important too, as is the ability to write successful proposals/presentations and manage the day-to-day delivery of multiple projects.

Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, the possibility of flexible working, enhanced family friendly policies and significant opportunities for learning and development.

Safeguarding is everyone’s business. Shelter is committed to protecting the health, wellbeing and human rights of those we support, and enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect. All our staff will be expected to observe professional standards of behaviour and conduct their work in line with our Safeguarding Policies.
