Fairtrade Foundation are recruiting for a Head of Programme Partnerships to significantly increase funding for Fairtrade Foundation’s programmes from a range of private sector, Foundations, government and other institutional sources by establishing, building and maintaining long-term development partnerships.

Programmes are a key component of Fairtrade’s strategy for growth and innovation, and this position offers an unprecedented opportunity to work at the cutting edge of development impact, co-creating and selling in systemic change propositions on Living Income, Living wage, gender transformation, climate change and policy and campaigns. In this vital role, you will represent our work, holding strong, trusting relationships with partners and ensuring we have a high profile. You will also provide leadership for the Programme Partnerships team, growing our capability and confidence in partnership development and working to build a strong culture of experimentation and learning.

You’ll need to be an experienced and innovative fundraiser with excellent knowledge of NGO-corporate and NGO- institutional donor partnerships.  With a demonstratable track record of leading an ambitious growth strategy and driving forward a sales pipeline within the private sector or an NGO environment, you must have a commercial outlook and be externally motivated with a deep understanding of the complexities of international development programming partnerships and associated solutions. In addition, you will have:

  • A passionate commitment to making trade fair.  You will be driven by a desire to bring lasting, systemic change in the Global South, including but not limited to catalyzing inclusive economic growth for Fairtrade producers and workers as well as those beyond Fairtrade value chains.
  • A proven track record of winning seven figure funding partnerships.
  • You will have excellent influencing skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence at the most senior levels.
  • Excellent written and presentation skills and confident ability to deliver verbal/written proposals up to CEO level.
  • You have natural gravitas and will be someone that our partners (both institutional and corporate) want to talk to about new opportunities.
  • You will have an empowering and collaborative working style and excellent experience of engaging and motivating a high performing team.
  • You will be solutions focused and able to manage competing priorities.
