Right To Play UK (RTP) was established in 2006 and is part of Right To Play International, operating in 15 countries worldwide. In the UK we support the global mission through our partnerships with companies, individuals, foundations and our strong portfolio of fundraising events.

The Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager will be responsible for account managing key relationships with Corporates partners and High-Net Worth Individuals, as well as seeking new business opportunities in order to grow our fundraising portfolio and help us reach our 2020 goals. They will deliver a fundraising strategy that grows high value, multi-year revenue through major gifts and corporate partnerships. In return, they will be part of a dynamic and agile team, who are passionate about helping children rise above adversity and reach their full potential.

This role requires someone who can flexibly move between the two fundraising disciplines of Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships. There will be times where the role leans more towards one area than the other and the post holder must be able to adapt to, and capitalise on, the variety of opportunities this role will present.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

Account management of Corporate Partnerships and Major Gifts

  • Implement Right To Play’s fundraising strategy for maximising income from Corporates and High-Net Worth Individuals
  • Lead and manage Right To Play UK’s corporate partnerships
  • Work with Head of Leadership Giving and Director of Development to manage major gifts from High-Net Worth Individuals
  • Provide timely and accurate reports demonstrating impact for bespoke audiences
  • Work with other Right To Play National Offices to maximise the potential of corporate partnerships that have a global reach

New Business Development

  • Identify and lead on new business opportunities in order to grow our funding pipeline both through existing support and by engaging with prospective funders.
  • Generate new business leads through independent research and Board/Committee networks.
  • Develop corporate fundraising communications and materials
  • Lead on cultivation events that bring us in contact with a wider range of potential supporters.
  • Raise the profile of Right To Play through attendance and participation in industry events and wider engagement opportunities

Systems, Processes, Team Working and Management

  • Recruit and manage Partnerships Intern to ensure there is additional support for the team’s activities
  • Monitor income and expenditure budgets for managed corporate partners and high-net worth individuals, reporting variances as needed
  • Represent the team in appropriate working groups, workshops and/or meetings/other events as directed
  • Utilise Mission CRM (Relationship database) to record and manage all relevant donor/prospect information to support effective relationship management
  • Participate in activities to support our growth globally, as required

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

  1. At least 2 years’ experience of account managing significant partnerships (£25k+) and meeting/exceeding financial targets
  2. At least 2 years’ experience of relationship management with high-net worth individuals, resulting in major gifts of £5,000+
  3. A proven track record of successfully scoping and winning new business worth £50k +
  4. Experience of dealing with senior leaders, key influencers, Board Directors and other VIP’s
  5. Experience of developing and delivering corporate pitches and presenting at meetings and fundraising events.
  6. Understanding of the fundraising landscape and charity legislation, in particular in relation to partnership agreements, GDPR, and tax-efficient giving.
  7. Experience of using a range of research techniques to keep abreast of funding opportunities and to conduct due diligence on companies and individuals.
  8. Excellent written English and a high attention to detail for writing professional proposals, letters and reports with the ability to translate complex information into a digestible and compelling form.
  9. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal sensitively and diplomatically with a variety of people, internally and externally.
  10. Ability to think creatively to package up RTP’s work plan in order to meet both RTP’s and prospective supporters’ objectives, and to find innovative solutions to supporters’ needs.
  11. Experience of using a database to monitor and manage corporate relationships and excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  12. Ability to monitor, assess, evaluate and report back to donors on how their support has made a difference to RTP.
  13. Ability to manage budgets including forecasting, monitoring, maintaining agreed cost/income ratios and regular reporting of outcome against KPIs.
  14. Understanding of and commitment to the aims and values of Right To Play.

Desirable criteria

  1. Experience of managing staff and volunteers, including performance management.
  2. Understanding of International Development issues and context.
  3. Bachelor degree graduate or equivalent professional/academic qualifications.
