We have an excellent opportunity for a community fundraiser to take a lead role in volunteer management.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  1. Motivate and drive volunteers to fundraise for our organisation, participating in activities such as retail partnerships (Pets at Home etc..) street collections, community events, seasonal campaigns, on site activities and the development of community groups.
  2. Manage recruitment and retention of volunteers, leading to long-term and regular volunteering. You will be able to deliver end to end volunteer activities providing on-going supervision and support to volunteers.
  3. To generate income to an agreed target for both finance and volunteer hours.

Forty hours a week with weekend working to manage and supervise volunteers.

Volunteer Manager’s Skills required

  • Knowledge of volunteer management good practice.
  • Knowledge of the needs and experience of volunteers from a diverse range of backgrounds.
  • Able to establish and maintain appropriate systems for the management and accurate recording of volunteer programmes.
  • Strong presentation skills to promote us as a destination for volunteering
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with people at all levels
  • IT literacy Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Volunteer Manager’s Key Experience

  • Experience of working with volunteers (essential).
  • Manage projects and associated budgets (essential).
  • Building relationships with external organisations (essential).
  • Developing and delivering successful volunteer recruitment, training and engagement programmes (desirable).
  • Monitoring and evaluation of volunteer programmes (desirable).
  • Experience of delivering effective marketing and communications campaigns (desirable).
  • Experience of using volunteer management systems (desirable)

This role is a combination of home working and working at the centre in Halewood Liverpool.
