About Us

The National Literacy Trust is a national charity dedicated to raising literacy levels in the UK. We run projects in the poorest communities, campaign to make literacy a priority for politicians and parents, and support schools. Our mission is to give young people the literacy skills they need to get a job and lead a successful life.

We have National Literacy Trust Hubs across the UK. These Hubs are a ten-year, place-based response to the challenges of intergenerational low literacy, working with a range of local partners to shape and deliver activity as part of a local strategy. 

We’re now looking for a Senior Manager to oversee the development and delivery of fundraising activity to sustain our Hubs and regional campaigns.

In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to support the delivery of innovative campaigns that are empowering young people and making a real difference across the UK.  

The Role  

As the Senior Manager, you’ll oversee the development and delivery of a fundraising strategy to support our local Hubs and regional campaigns. 

You’ll focus your efforts on corporate and community fundraising, as well as managing local fundraising in areas where we do not yet have a local fundraiser.  

Additionally, you will:  

- Line manage a team of local and regional Hub fundraisers, currently based in East Sussex, Swindon, Yorkshire and Peterborough 
- Develop the regional fundraising strategy  
- Manage and build relationships with key stakeholders  
- Oversee partnerships and the stewardship of funders 
- Assist with trust and foundation applications 

About You  

To join us as a Senior Manager, you will need:  

- Strong management experience  
- A successful track record in local or regional fundraising in the voluntary sector  
- Previous corporate and community fundraising experience  
- Excellent communication skills  
- A collaborative approach to problem-solving  

Previous event management or marketing experience would be beneficial to your application.
