Head of Philanthropy

Manchester Metropolitan University seeks an exceptional, experienced major gift fundraiser for this new, exciting position within the University’s growing Development and Alumni Relations team. Reporting to the Director of Development and Alumni Relations, the Head of Philanthropy will manage a small team of fundraising professionals to deliver a step change in philanthropic income.

Typically, you will:

Be responsible for the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of our most valued supporters, and you will secure donations to support key strategic priorities including capital campaigns, internationally excellent research and scholarships for talented students.

This role, in addition to line management, will include the active solicitation of donations from high net worth individuals across the UK and applications to some of the country's largest trusts and foundations; all against challenging income targets.

You will also work with colleagues in Communications and Marketing to develop innovative and engaging communications that reach and excite as yet unengaged prospective donors, both alumni and non-alumni.

The ideal candidate:

You will be a skilled written and oral communicator and results-orientated, with a proven track-record in the successful solicitation of six-figure and higher donations.
