Tearfund is a Christian organisation partnering with the local church wherever possible to see change in the lives of those in greatest economic need. We believe poverty is caused by broken relationships with God, others, the environment and ourselves. Restoring those relationships is key to how we work, and we want to see change that is economic, material, environmental and spiritual. We are courageous, truthful, compassionate, servant-hearted and Christ-centred; values that are at the heart of Tearfund.

Ensuring we are successful in funding our projects and programmes overseas is hugely important and we are looking for an exceptional individual to lead the development, coordination and delivery of Tearfund's institutional funding strategy at a global level, taking the lead on developing donor relationships in the Global North. This will include giving strategic oversight, direction and support to countries, both in building their institutional funding capacity and helping develop donor relationships in-country.  We are looking for a candidate who can lead this team to ensure growth in our restricted grant funding, covering the crucial areas of strategic planning, donor networking and team management.

You will be well experienced in international development with an excellent knowledge of the ways of working of international NGOs from both country programme and head office perspectives.

We are looking for someonwzYou will be familiar with the challenges of operating in the environments we work in and have a strong track record in securing institutional funding, including through consortia. You will be able to demonstrate how you have been able to grow and influence programme funding in previous roles, bringing to the role a network of donor and peer agency contacts, and setting strategy for programme funding growth. Tenacious and able to influence at all levels of an organisation, you will bring energy and dynamism to delivering growth in this area.

Do your skills and experience match the above? Then we'd love to hear from you!

The role is based in Teddington but will involve overseas travel.

All applicants must be committed to Tearfund Christian beliefs.

The recruitment process will include specific checks related to safeguarding issues.
