Do you have experience of building relationships with high net worth individuals, cultivating and soliciting
six-figure donations and managing and inspiring others within a fundraising environment? Then join Shelter as a Senior Philanthropy Manager and you could soon be playing a vital role at the heart of our creative, passionate and ambitious Philanthropy team.

A home is a fundamental human need, as essential as education or healthcare. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle on a daily basis with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. So, we are striving for change — with individuals, in communities, across society – and leading the way to a safe home. We need ambitious, best-in-class individuals who are passionate about our cause to join us at this exciting time. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are striving to achieve.

Our Philanthropy team is a continuing success story. Five years ago, the team generated income of around £500,000. Now, we’re bringing in close to £2m - and our aim is to grow that to £3m by 2021. This growth has been achieved by significant investment in the team and the development of a range of products and propositions. Join us, and you’ll play a big part in keeping the momentum going.

About the Role
Motivating and inspiring members of our ambitious Philanthropy team to engage and steward major donors is just one of the challenges awaiting you here. You’ll also manage performance and set high standards, not to mention support the Head of the team via timely analysis and reporting. And, you’ll do all this while also cultivating your own portfolio of prospective donors. Building products and propositions, working with research colleagues to maintain a healthy pipeline of major donor prospects and contributing to the annual strategy for the Philanthropy team – all, and more, are aspects of this interesting and varied fundraising management role.

About you
Proactive, creative, commercially aware and results-driven, you’re used to developing and overseeing the creation of complex and detailed fundraising proposals and a range of major donor products and stewardship approaches. You also have experience of line managing a team with different skillsets to achieve success. What's more, you're familiar with restricted income processes, income analysis and return on investment calculations and forecasting and a have a proven ability to read and analyse financial information and report on income and expenditure.

Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. We’re here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.
