Are you bursting with creative ideas? Do you know what it takes to give a great human story the platform it deserves, whether that is in news print, magazine features, online or social media? And can you inspire action through this powerful storytelling?

We are looking for a strong communications professional with experience of feature writing and storytelling across multiple platforms, who will play a key role within the Communications – Supporter and Families team. As Communications Officer, you will be driven and proactive in working with those living with or touched by dementia to tell powerful stories that inspire, educate and stop people in their tracks.

This collaborative role will involve working with national and regional media and consumer titles, and with Digital and Community Fundraising teams within Alzheimer’s Research UK, to develop creative ways to raise awareness of our charitable work, our supporters and our mission.

You will develop copy and campaigns that engage the public with our fundraising initiatives including National Skydive Day and our range of challenge events including overseas treks, as well as ensuring we seek new opportunities through existing partnerships like parkrun. You will also develop relationships with our Community Fundraising team to support their communications needs and promote the fundraising activities of our individual supporters.

The role plays an important part in developing Alzheimer’s Research UK’s brand as an inclusive charity that is seeking to create a movement of people to defeat dementia. This is an exciting time to join the UK’s leading dementia research charity and be part of a fast-paced organisation whose mission is to bring about the first life-changing dementia treatment by 2025.

If you want to be part of a group of individuals committed to challenging the way people think about dementia, uniting the big thinkers in the field and funding the innovative science that will deliver a cure, then you should apply today.
