The Fundraising Operations team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) exists to support and drive the fundraising activities of the whole organisation and is fundamental to the delivery of our ambition to find a life-changing treatment by 2025.

Applications are invited for an Events and Donor Engagement Manager with a strong interest in customer/donor engagement.  This is a pivotal role, working in a busy and dynamic team across a range of internal stakeholders and variety of events. These could include lunches for 6 hosted by our senior volunteers, or large-scale events to thank our Marathon runners. You will also be responsible for managing and driving an events delivery team to ensure we are managing the end to end planning process in conjunction with internal event sponsors.  

No two days will be the same and you will need to be able to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.

Main tasks of role:

  • To be responsible for budget and resource planning for the Events team.
  • To be outward looking, monitoring external trends and seeking new opportunities to deliver a fresh donor engagement and events programme for ARUK.
  • Identify and monitor targets and milestones for the delivery of events.
  • Evaluate the success of the events programme; ensuring learning is incorporated into the planning and delivery of future events.
  • Project manage the delivery of agreed events, working with other fundraising teams to deliver each event to an agreed brief.
  • Where appropriate, to deliver materials required to support each event.

What we are looking for:

  • A range of Events Management experience.
  • Demonstrable evidence of leading a team.
  • Good problem-solving and communications skills
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to interact with different stakeholders and significant stakeholder management experience
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills

This is a fixed term maternity cover position for twelve months, or the return of the post holder, whichever is earlier. Ideally, we are looking for someone who would be able to start in mid-March 2018.
