Community Fundraiser

A life-changing opportunity

Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading dementia charity. We provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.

Position: Community Fundraiser
Location: London (role covers South West London)
Contract type: Fixed Term Contract - 14/09/2018
Hours: 35 per week
Salary: £32,326 per annum (actual)

Closing date: 5pm on 14th December 2017
Interview date: 20th December 2017

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Central Community Fundraising team at Alzheimer’s Society. This is a fast-paced, creative role working across local communities in South West London. You will be working alongside our committed supporters and volunteers, as well as performing a range of administrative and database-led tasks and attending internal and external meetings. You will be joining a high-performing team of four community fundraisers raising funds in their own localities across London as well as working across other fundraising disciplines with our colleagues across the wider fundraising directorate.

If you have a passion and skill for supporting fundraisers and volunteers, this is an exciting opportunity for you to build on your fundraising and volunteer management experience, and truly make your mark in this rapidly expanding charity.

About you:

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person who has experience of working with donors and volunteers. This is a fixed term contract, so we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and has ideally worked within a similar role or can demonstrate the relevant skills and experience required in the job description.

You will need to be an excellent communicator, confident in contacting supporters face to face as well as over the telephone. The role also involves giving presentations to various groups, associations and local businesses. This is a role which requires you to manage your own workload and diary; you will need to demonstrate your ability to work well on your own initiative as well as be a real team player. This is a busy and demanding role often with conflicting deadlines so the ability to prioritise your workloads and have an organised, methodical approach is essential.

You will have experience of recruiting, managing and working with volunteers to deliver organisational objectives as well as a proven track record in achieving financial and non-financial targets and good working knowledge of budgets is essential.

The successful candidate will benefit from working in a dynamic and well-supported team where you will have a direct impact on the lives of people affected by dementia.

If this sounds like you we would welcome your application.

Alzheimer’s Society is committed to equal opportunities.

You may have experience of the following: Community Fundraiser, Fundraising, Charity, Not for Profit, Third Sector, Volunteer Management, Business Development, Legacy, Fundraiser, Volunteer Manager, Charities etc.
