Head of Communications and Development

An exciting opportunity for a marketing and/or fundraising professional to join the Apples and Snakes senior management team.  The Head of Communications and Development will lead on creatively marketing Apples and Snakes and implementing an ambitious fundraising strategy. This position will play a critical role in business growth through brand development, audience growth, and the diversification of income streams via corporate partnerships and major donor development.

We are looking for an ambitious professional with a background in either marketing or fundraising to manage a small team, and deliver key objectives and targets across both marketing and fundraising portfolios.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Devise and deliver an audience development strategy aimed at engaging new audiences and building the market share of target audiences
• Plan and implement a multi-platform marketing and communications strategy
• Lead marketing campaigns across all marketing channels, ensuring the delivery of distinctive, engaging and integrated on-brand campaigns
• Develop the brand in partnership with Apples and Snakes colleagues
• Cultivate and manage a strong organisational narrative through effective communications and PR campaigns in house or via PR agency or media partner
• Oversee organisational messages within all communications, including press releases, articles, features, blogs, interviews and any other content
• Oversee the development of corporate and public relations collateral, including the annual report and films/digital assets etc.
• Lead on the development of digital strategy, including website development, e-marketing, e-commerce, and development of social media channels
• Lead in the implementation of the Apples and Snakes’ Fundraising Strategy for major donors, corporate partnerships, and trusts and foundations, in collaboration with SMT
• Meet ambitious financial fundraising and audience development targets
