We're looking for an ambitious, confident and engaging fundraiser to develop our community and corporate fundraising and volunteer base in South Devon. Working on your own intiative but with support from colleagues in a small, friendly team, you will build a broader support base for the charity in a defined area of Devon. You will help us defeat dementia by raising funds for research in Exeter, Plymouth and other universties in SW England and S Wales.

KEY TASKS: 

Developing support groups 

  • Recruit, manage and support volunteer fundraisers within a defined area in South Devon, and inspire supporters in this area to achieve their fundraising potential 

Organisational support 

  • Identify potential support within businesses and community groups and develop relationships that lead to fundraising or speaking engagements 

  • Seek charity of the year support and sponsorship 

Charity presence 

  • Provide a point of contact for enquiries to BRACE in Devon and represent the charity 

Fundraising activities 

  • Create fundraising opportunities around low maintenance events, e.g. Cuppa 4 a Cure 

  • Promote existing BRACE fundraising options, e.g. lottery 

Speaking 

  • Create opportunities for BRACE speakers and become part of the team of speakers 

  • Develop relationships with BRACE-funded scientists in Devon in order to understand better what they are doing 

Public information events 

  • Working with Bristol colleagues, create and run events for the general public or businesses, e.g. on living with dementia, planning care or becoming a dementia-friendly organisation 

Networking 

  • Represent BRACE at business and other networking events

Collaboration with charities 

  • Develop collaboration with local branches of the Dementia Action Alliance, Purple Angel and other relevant charities
