With the completion of our three year forward plan – ‘Helping now and looking to the future’ - we are continuing to be leaders of cancer support through our three centres in Lancaster, Kendal and Barrow.

In addition, we are developing a number of new work-streams, including the expansion of services in Barrow and the widening of our service for teenagers.

For the right candidate there is a job to be done here; someone who will help us shape our future and at the same time develop your own skills, working as part of a fast-paced, inventive and supportive team.

About the role

You will be responsible for ensuring that our Fundraising Strategy delivers transformational income growth in line with our three year corporate plan and budget.

You will manage and motivate a team of six direct reports and be a vital member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) of three, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.

You will have overall responsibility for the strategic performance, day to day management and delivery of all CancerCare’s Fundraising activities across a portfolio of diverse income streams.

About you

You need to be a problem solver, an individual who can make the right connections and drive performance as a key member of the SMT.

To succeed in this post you will be passionate, organised, target-driven, enthusiastic and looking for a new challenge each day.

You will be looking for a varied role where you can grow, learn more and utilise your past experiences, developing yourself and your team to achieve great things.

You’ll be committed to engaging with volunteers and supporters to grow our income and raise awareness of our services.

You will also have experience of developing, monitoring and delivering budgets with a track record of meeting and exceeding targets.

Good line management and leadership skills are important along with well-judged influencing and communication skills which give you the confidence to work collaboratively across different departments.
