Head of Fundraising

Are you ready to take the next step in your fundraising career? We are Chailey Heritage Foundation, a pioneering Sussex based charity changing the lives of children and young adults with complex neurological disabilities.

With plans to further develop our range of fundraising initiatives, we are looking for a dynamic and passionate fundraiser to lead our small team running major fundraising appeals and campaigns.

This is a new role, reporting to the Development Director, where you will be responsible for delivering the fundraising strategy across a variety of income streams, including trusts & foundations, corporate partners, capital appeals and events, as well as working closely with the communications team to further promote the work the charity does.

Chailey Heritage Foundation has been successful in raising its profile and increasing voluntary income through a targeted programme of events, corporate sponsorship, community fundraising and appeals. We now need a Head of Fundraising to lead our team, working closely with the Development Director, to build on this success.

This role will be key to ensuring that we continue to raise vital funds that go directly to improving the prospects and well-being of our young people.

Key responsibilities will include:

· To head up and manage the fundraising team to ensure an effective, pro-active and professional fundraising approach is maintained at all times.

· To work with the Development Director and CEO to establish fundraising priorities and set achievable fundraising goals together with the strategies to deliver the Fundraising Strategy

· Identify potential sources of funds and develop CHF’s Case for Support and ensure key messages are communicated effectively to relevant stakeholders and are in line with CHF’s strategic priorities and ethos of the charity.

You will have proven experience of operating at a senior level and leading and managing a team, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be a confident public speaker. The Foundation continues to grow and this role offers career opportunities for the right candidate.

Chailey Heritage Foundation is recognised as one of the UK’s leading charity centres for children and young adults with neurological motor impairment such as Cerebral Palsy, and we have a national reputation for our work in supporting young people’s communication and developing independence through powered mobility.

An outstanding special school, residential homes for children and young adults and range of day services for young adults are based on this site, which is shared with Chailey Clinical Services. The site includes a large hydrotherapy pool, riding facilities and a small farm as well as a grade 2 listed chapel and a brand new exciting facility for the whole Foundation - the Dream Centre, which was paid for by generous donations and fundraising events.
