About us

At Christian Aid, we believe poverty is an outrage against humanity. It robs people of their dignity and lets injustice thrive. But together we have the power to transform lives.

With our supporters and partners, we aim to expose poverty throughout the world; to help in practical ways to end it and to highlight, challenge and change the structures and systems that favour the rich and powerful over the poor and marginalised.

About the role

With extensive fundraising experience, this is your opportunity to help us achieve our vision of a world where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty.

Working with peers in digital, campaigns and community fundraising, Individual Giving Lead is responsible for the acquisition and retention of individual supporters, CA's committed giving portfolio and legacies, in the context of Christian Aid's supporter engagement strategy. The role is instrumental in the development of the journeys that deliver an excellent stewardship experience.

This work is delivered collaboratively with colleagues from across the organisation through matrix managed projects. This is about empowering people through technical guidance and coaching to flourish as they work creatively and co-operatively towards shared outcomes. It's also about strengthening links with our supporters at every opportunity, putting them at the heart of what we do.

About you

You are an expert relationship fundraiser with proven people management skills. You are an outstanding leader who can coach, motivate and inspire those around you to achieve exceptional results. You have proven expertise in individual giving and have a strong understanding of digital engagement. You are comfortable in both strategic and operational spaces, with first-rate planning, budget management, marketing and negotiation skills.

Competency Questions

As part of your application you will be asked to demonstrate your suitability by giving answers to the following questions:

1 - Please give us an example of a time when you took an initiative to promote better team working to break down barriers to effective cross-organisational collaboration.

2 - Tell us about a time when you had to apply a range of negotiating and influencing skills to secure agreement around a fundraising activity with stakeholders where there was little common ground?

3 - Please give us an example of a time when you took a long term strategic perspective while recognising that short term decisions might compromise future options.
