Development Manager

Salary Scale: £46,310 to £52,780 pa including London Weighting

The City of London School for Girls is a highly academic independent school (7-18) (HMC) situated right in the heart of the City. With a reputation for excellence and diversity, we pride ourselves on delivering first class education and life changing opportunities to the young women in our care. Currently about 17% of our pupils are on means tested bursaries. The school is owned by the City of London Corporation and forms part of the City of London Family of Schools.

As we approach our 125th Anniversary in 2019, we want to step up considerably our fundraising efforts so that more girls can benefit from a CLSG education. To lead this work and to take us on the next stage of our fundraising journey, we are seeking to appoint a Development Manager to work with the School, Alumni and donors to develop and implement an ambitious fundraising strategy for our bursary programme.

This is a new position that will offer the successful candidate the ability to work closely with the Senior Leadership Team. They will play a crucial role in ensuring and increasing the diversity of the school, which is one of its distinct and unique characteristics. They will do so by cultivating links with our current donors and by bringing in significant new income in support of the School’s bursary programme.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have excellent sector experience and the skills to develop a fundraising strategy and excellent communications skills to implement it. The confidence to make approaches to potential donors is essential and previous experience of fundraising would be an advantage. They must have the initiative required to embrace the opportunities offered by a new post.

City of London School for Girls is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Closing date: 12 noon on 6 July 2018.

Interviews likely to be w/c 9 July or 16 July 2018.
