Factory farming is the single biggest cause of animal cruelty, one of the greatest social and environmental challenges of our time and utterly fails to meet the needs of all the planet’s 7.7 billion people. 

Compassion in World Farming International is a fast-growing and influential campaigning charity that is already transforming the lives of millions of animals around the world. We are looking for an impressive professional to lead a new phase of income growth in our biggest fundraising market – the United Kingdom. 

Compassion has embarked on a global income growth drive that has already connected tens of thousands of people to our cause over the past few years. Investment and staff are in place in key locations worldwide and we now need an exceptional professional fundraiser who can further develop our UK fundraising programme. 

Position: Head of UK Fundraising 
Location: Godalming, Surrey (45 minutes from London Waterloo, The office is a 3-minute walk from Godalming mainline train station) 
Job type: Full Time, Permanent 
Salary: circa £48k - £52k depending on experience

This new post has been created to help us attract, convert and importantly, retain tens of thousands of supporters and monthly donors over the coming five years.

About you: 

- Proven ability in strategic and team leadership of supporter fundraising to achieve material income growth. 
- Minimum of 5 years working in a senior fundraising position. 
- Experienced at leading and inspiring teams to achieve significant income growth. 
- Experience in inspiring and leading a supporter fundraising programme that has successfully grown income year on year. 
- A passion and deep understanding of digital marketing techniques (particularly via email and social media). 
- A successful track record in traditional direct marketing (particularly direct mail). 
- Fluent in digital marketing and communications with a proven ability in online fundraising or marketing to recruit new donors. 
- Excellent project management and communications skills. 
- Proven skills in marketing analytics, targeting and applying data to optimise effectiveness. 
- Proven budgeting and financial management skills. 
- Makes timely decisions, which affect the team (prepared to seize the moment) and perseveres with difficult, awkward or unpopular decisions to achieve agreed objectives. 
- Understanding of volunteer / event fundraising. 
- Solid understanding of Legacy Settlement and Legacy Marketing.
