Fantastic opportunity to play a key role as Senior Philanthropy Manager within Christian charity Compassion UK’s dedicated Philanthropy Team, helping to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name.

Compassion works in 25 of the poorest countries. Our work is Christ centred, church based and child focused, linking one child with one sponsor.

The Philanthropy Team aims to build long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with organisations, businesses and individuals who have the propensity and capacity to contribute significantly to our mission. 

We are looking for a Senior Philanthropy Manager with a proven track record of generating income through major donor fundraising, sales, marketing and financial management experience including budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, key account and relationship management skills and a personal alignment to Compassion’s ministry to children in poverty. 
The Senior Philanthropy Manager will need to be an effective communicator with excellent public speaking and presentation skills able to network effectively and cast a vision to build strong and meaningful relationships. 

Job Purpose:

To work alongside other frontline channels to manage the development and delivery of a fundraising programme that increases engagement between high net worth individual supporters, corporate partners and statutory agencies and Compassion UK.

Key Outcomes:

  1. Promote & Maintain CUK’s Christian ethos and values;
  2. Identify and cultivate relationships with prospective high net worth individual supporters;
  3. Instigate and oversee the initiation of a statutory funding programme and to ensure good stewardship is provided to the small number of supporting trusts and foundations;
  4. Deliver regular, high quality prospect cultivation events and accompany major supporters on trips to visit Compassion projects;
  5. Work in partnership with the Philanthropy Office to deliver data-driven growth in mid-level funding opportunities.

N.B. There is an occupational requirement for the Senior Philanthropy Manager to have an active personal commitment to the Christian faith.

This is a permanent post (Flexible location: office based/home based) working 35 hours per week Monday to Friday 9.00 – 17.00. N.B. Though the office is currently in Weybridge, Surrey an office move (potentially to Hampshire) is scheduled for June 2018.
