Reporting to: Compton Managing Consultants (Director of Fundraising)

Hours of Work: 37.5hrs per week

Job Summary

Compton Fundraising is looking for an experienced Corporate Fundraiser to join our successful fundraising team at North London Hospice.

North London Hospice is located at Woodside Avenue, North Finchley and provides end of life palliative care across the boroughs of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. It costs £10m to run all our services and the fundraising department is responsible for generating £3.3m through voluntary donations and legacy gifts.

This is an exciting role that will enable the post holder to have the opportunity to develop a portfolio of corporate clients to engage local business partnerships, COTY, sponsorship, community groups as well as managing our sports and challenges programme.

Ideally you will have some experience of working in a corporate or community and event fundraising environment, and be flexible in your approach to ensuring that our corporates and community groups and challenge event participants are well supported with their activities.

You will also work with the senior managers on Major Gifts programme, facilitating action by patrons, trustees and celebrities.

With such a varied role, you will have to be highly organised and able to cope with competing priorities and be ready to turn your hand to all aspects and duties of fundraising events.

  • To manage the corporate & challenge event activity and to work with the Director of Fundraising to achieve agreed income generation goals in excess of £150,000.
  • To develop fundraising from local businesses, including employee giving, charity of the year partnerships and match giving from employers.
  • To build income, support and awareness for the Hospice amongst individual supporters, community groups and new companies within the Hospice catchment area.
  • To inspire new corporate supporters while maintaining and developing relationships with existing supporters. Identifying where possible, potential high net worth individuals. And share these with the senior managers.
  • To develop new corporate fundraising activities and events.
  • To source sponsorship for Hospice events and activities where required.
  • To build income, support and awareness for the Hospice from fundraising activities and events, challenge events, schools, churches, rotary groups and support groups.
  • To develop a network of volunteers and encourage volunteer led fundraising activities.
  • To develop relationships with other departments to encourage those members of staff to participate in fundraising events.
  • To provide excellent donor care for all fundraising activities, to develop relationships and maximise fundraising potential.
  • To work with the senior managers on the Major Gifts programme, facilitating action by patrons, trustees and celebrities.
  • To respond to enquiries from the public, companies, volunteers, fundraisers etc. (by phone, mail and in person) including responding to requests for information and materials etc.
  • To ensure that accurate and up to date financial and supporter records are maintained and accessible.
  • To write promotional materials to reach a wide range of potential and current donors.
  • To work with the Communications Team to help promote corporate partners and corporate engagement opportunities in the local media.
  • To work collaboratively with the wider fundraising team to ensure team targets are met and supporting on other fundraising events and activities including major gifts, legacy promotion and in memory fundraising etc, as required.

You will need 2 years relevant experience, a full driving licence and use of a car.

This is a significant opportunity for a fundraiser with a minimum of 2 years’ experience to work alongside senior colleagues from the UK’s leading fundraising consultancy to further develop their skills and career.
