Cord is an international charity with 50 years of experience. Cord’s vision is of a world where people can live in the fullness of peace; having the freedom to flourish and live free from fear. We work with people in highly sensitive and oppressive contexts to transform dysfunctional relationships between civil society and powerholders into those that create peaceful & inclusive societies.

Cord’s vision, mission and values are inspired by the Christian faith and we work with and employ people of all faiths and none.

We are seeking a talented fundraiser and effective communicator to join the Cord team at an exciting time as we launch our new strategy ‘Promoting the Power of Peaceful Relationships’. The purpose of the role is to communicate stories of personal transformative change to Cord’s committed supporter and potential new givers. You will generate and deliver a compelling narrative about Cord’s work to engage intelligently with supporters and inspire them to give. Through this you will maintain £110,000 of annual income from regular givers and £90,000 from appeals and fundraising asks. You will be tasked with developing Cord’s approach to legacy fundraising and corporate donor engagement and you will oversee a trust fundraiser to grow income from trusts.

This role would suit someone with understanding across funding streams or who is enthusiastic to drive their own learning of different types of fundraising and above all who is motivated to write the communications content about Cord’s work.

Cord is an organisation with a long history and committed supporter base. You will be joining a team that is passionate about caring for its supporters and continuing to build positive relationships for Cord’s future.

You will be a self-starter, who can hit the ground running to help us drive growth and achieve our ambitious fundraising targets for 2019 onwards.

Are you someone who is willing and interested to travel occasionally to visit Cord’s programmes overseas and bring back human stories of change?

If you are passionate about communicating confidently with a Christian audience in a church environment as well as with those with other faiths or none, have a commitment to the values Cord holds, and have the energy to be part of a small but well established organisation then we would love to hear from you!

As a new starter you can expect to be welcomed in to a supportive team with a commitment to live out our values of being compassionate and valuing everyone.

Alongside the salary Cord provides 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays and discretionary additional leave during the Christmas period. Cord offers generous flexibility in working hours, family friendly policies, and up to 6% contribution to pension. Cord’s office is located adjacent to Coventry train station in the centre Coventry; a city undergoing an exciting transformation through its City of Culture 2021 status. Currently, staff members are provided free office parking.
