The Royal Armouries is the United Kingdom’s national museum of arms and armour, and one of the most important museums of its type in the world.  The collection is housed in three museums in the UK: its original home, the Tower of London, Fort Nelson, a restored Victorian fort and our purpose-built museum in Leeds.

The Royal Armouries is recruiting to our small but highly-committed Development team.

We are looking for an experienced Corporate Partnerships Manager to deliver a new strategy to maximise income from corporate sponsorship and corporate membership.  This is an important role with the opportunity to make a critical contribution to Royal Armouries' business plan over the next 5-10 years, our cultural programme and plans for the future re-development of the museum.

The successful applicant will report into the Head of Development and be responsible for identifying prospects, managing and delivering sponsorships and building long-term mutually beneficial relationships with supporters to ensure that the museum's public programme and capital masterplan are delivered, and that unrestricted income targets are met.  This is a target-driven post in a small team which will involve working closely with colleagues in the Development team and across the organisation.

We expect that you will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in a similar role within a fundraising environment.  Experience of managing relationships with sponsors and delivering excellent stewardship is essential.  You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills - both written and verbal - and highly developed persuading and influencing skills.  Experience of organising successful and imaginative events is also important.

In return, we offer a good benefits package including generous annual leave allowance and the opportunity to work in a fantastic heritage attraction with the chance to travel to the Tower of London and Fort Nelson in Hampshire.

This post full time working 37.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 (Monday – Friday, evening, weekend and Bank Holiday working may be required).

A Police check will be requested in the event of a successful application. Please refer to the job description for the level of check required. A criminal record would not necessarily be a bar to employment.
