About us

Crisis is the national charity for homeless people. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it.

Having recently won Fundraising Team of the Year at the National Fundraising Awards 2017, now is a really exciting time to join the Crisis Fundraising department. The National and Regional Team has grown over the last few years introducing high profile Crisis owned events, as well as maintaining significant income from various community audiences.

We have ambitious plans for the future and are looking for someone to join the team on a 12-month fixed-term basis to help make them happen.

About the role

As the Community and Events Executive, you will drive our new community volunteer project forward. Liaising with teams from across the organisation to launch active volunteer fundraising groups, across the UK. These groups will contribute to our growing supporter base and help our fundraising plans reach every corner of England, Scotland and Wales.

Alongside community elements you will lead on a number of Crisis owned and third party events. This role will be integral to the continued success of existing events and future development and embedding of the new products.

You will have the opportunity to work with teams across the UK, as well as our members and volunteers. As the role covers both community and events you will have the opportunity to meet a range of supporters.

About you

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who is

  • experienced in project/event management
  • confident working with volunteers
  • passionate about improving the supporter experience
  • able to communicate with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • organised and has good time management skills
  • able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
