Background Information
There are currently over 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK, and this is expected to increase to 1.1 million by 2025, and 2 million by 2050.

In response to this Dementia UK provides specialist dementia support for families through our Admiral Nurse service. When things get challenging or difficult for people with dementia and their families, Admiral Nurses work alongside them, giving the one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions people need. The unique dementia expertise and experience an Admiral Nurse brings is a lifeline - it helps everyone in the family to live more positively with dementia in the present, and to face the challenges of tomorrow with more confidence and less fear.

The charity has seen significant income growth over the past four years, (income has more than doubled to £6.5m), and we have ambitious plans to maintain this growth so we can significantly increase income in this area, to grow the number of Admiral Nurses, and the specialist support they provide families facing dementia.

Challenge Events Fundraising will play a key part in this transformation, as a key income stream for the charity, recently hitting £1million raised in this area. The charity is very invested in significantly growing Challenge Events fundraising and there is a great deal of support for the team (and post holders) to help them continue this expansion.

This is a great opportunity for someone to have a real impact and make their mark on this area, leading a team to develop the portfolio and optimise the support from participants.
