This is an exciting time to join The London Library.  Having celebrated our 175th Anniversary in 2016 with a three-day literary festival and a very successful 175th Appeal, we are now looking towards the future, keen to build on this success and create a substantial increase in fundraising income over the next five years.

Applications are invited for the post of Development Manager (Individual Giving) to join our fundraising team.

This position is ideal for an ambitious and experienced individual who is looking for an opportunity to take the lead in recruiting, retaining and managing individual supporters, as well as play a vital role in supporting all fundraising activity. 

Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent relationship-building and research skills, a keen commitment to effective working practices, and a creative and analytical mind.

Key duties

  • Curating and developing our patrons group, the Founders’ Circle, and new high level giving circles
  • Managing and growing our legacy programme
  • Excellent supporter engagement and stewardship
  • Developing communications to support individual and legacy giving
  • Working closely with the Finance, Membership and Acquisitions Departments to ensure smooth management of administration of all fundraising activity
  • Contributing to and assisting with the implementation of the Fundraising Strategy, ensuring delivery of fundraising targets
