Development Manager (Trusts and Foundations)

Development and Alumni Relations

 Ref: 17/105235

Have you experience in targeted sales and do you enjoy building relationships? Are you someone with a talent for spotting opportunities and making connections? Do you have an ability to gather information and use it to create compelling proposals?

Queen’s University is seeking to appoint a motivated, dynamic and results oriented individual to join the Development and Alumni Relations team.

Following the success of the second successful fundraising campaign, which raised £140m, the Development and Alumni Relations office is looking for an experienced fundraiser, or person with transferable skills who would like to move into this area of work.

Philanthropic gifts play a vital role in enabling Queen’s to implement its bold and imaginative plans. A dynamic and diverse institution, Queen’s is a magnet for inward investment, a major employer and investor, a patron of the arts and a global player in areas ranging from cancer research to sustainability, and from food security to cyber security.

A critical role in the team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and leading on plans to generate major gift support from Trusts and Foundations, typically from five figure gifts and upwards. You will have exceptional relationship management skills and be able to work collaboratively across the organisation in order to identify important data and information to be used in complex bids. This will involve developing cases for support and proposal writing. This will be undertaken in close collaboration with the Head of Major Gifts, Academics, and other senior fundraising colleagues.

The successful candidate will be someone who has excellent written and verbal communication skills and will have secured significant gifts from trusts and foundations or other funders.

Informal enquires may be directed to Mrs Helen Surgenor, Head of Medical Fundraising (Individual Giving),

Anticipated interview date: Friday 3 March 2017

Salary scale: £32,004 - £41,709 per annum (including contribution points)
Closing date: Friday 10 February 2017

Full time, Permanent.
