Learning Support Assistant 

St Elizabeth’s is situated in 68 acres of beautiful Hertfordshire parkland between Harlow and Bishop’s Stortford. We support people with Epilepsy and other complex needs from the age of 5 through to 78 in our Children’s Home, School, College, Residential Home with nursing and Day Centre. Over 150 adults and children call St Elizabeth’s their home making us an inspirational place to do great work. 

Position: Learning Support Assistant (College) 
Location: Much Hadham, Hertfordshire (commutable from Bishop’s Stortford, Harlow, Hertford & surrounding areas) 
Job type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Term Time Only) 
Salary: £16,056 to £17,958 per annum, dependent on experience

We provide our learners with development opportunities that not only extends their academic skills and abilities, but also promotes personal growth and independence in all aspects of learning, leisure and life. Every day we carry out immeasurably worthwhile and rewarding work which although at times can be challenging, continually enhances the lives of the learners that attend our College. 

Responsibilities: 

- Contributing and assisting with the development and implementation of Individual Learning Plans. 
- Supporting and recording progress and providing written reports where necessary. 
- Supporting learners to achieve goals and guiding them on appropriate behaviour. 
- Supporting learners who can display challenging behaviours and helping to manage this in a positive way. 
- Assisting learners with their personal and health needs, promoting the highest standards of welfare and self – care at all times. 

About you: 

To join us as a Learning Support Assistant, previous experience of working within a special needs environment is essential. You will also have an NVQ Level 2 in either Learning or Health and Social care along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
