Embrace the Middle East is an international Christian charity with over 160 years’ experience helping people of all faiths and none to free themselves from a life of poverty and injustice. Our Christian partners in Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Israel and Palestine run hospitals, clinics, schools, and centres for people with disabilities. They provide support for refugees, work for women’s rights, provide long-term development, as well as emergency humanitarian relief.

About the job

With investment to redevelop the Charity’s website and plans for digital transformation, there has never been a more exciting time to join Embrace the Middle East’s Fundraising and Marketing team.

Over the last few years the charity has developed a successful portfolio of fundraising programmes (mainly print) to help raise vital funds needed to bring about lasting change and transformation to some of the most marginalised people living in the Middle East.  You will play a key and active role in focusing on growing individual giving, creating inspiring supporter experience, to minimise attrition and maximise acquisition of supporters through print and digital channels.  As the principle individual giving fundraiser, you will be adept at developing and delivering the charity’s acquisition strategy, identifying, targeting and recruiting new donors and reaching out to new audiences.  You will play a lead role in driving digital innovation across all our individual giving programmes and work collaboratively with Embrace’s strategic communications group to integrate fundraising initiatives into the wider communications strategy for the charity.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented group of committed and passionate people; to be part of an organisation that invests in people’s continued professional development, values everyone’s contribution, pays a fair wage, alongside rewarding benefits and flexible working arrangements.  Our commitment to personal development will ensure you continue to grow and flourish in your career.

As a Christian organisation, we don’t ask that you share our faith, but rather that you are sympathetic to the Christian ethos and values of Embrace the Middle East. The ideal candidate will be sympathetic to the Christian character of Embrace and have a heart for people living in desperate situations in the Middle East.  They will have a strong desire to raise vital funds to make a difference to the lives of the poorest communities. The successful candidate will be required to complete a medical questionnaire and undertake a disclosure check as part of the Charity’s recruitment policy.
