About the role

We’re looking for a creative, enterprising fundraiser who can help us secure more public and statutory funding for 100 miles of waterways in the Capital. This will involve identifying suitable funding opportunities that match our priorities, seeking out appropriate partners and submitting high-quality proposals, as well as working with our delivery teams to monitor the outputs and outcomes of successful projects. You will also play a key role both in strengthening our voluntary fundraising team and in building external relationships with key strategic partners and decision makers. This role is based in Little Venice, London

About you

With previous experience in a senior funding or regeneration role, you will be able to develop compelling proposals with real creativity and flair, and will have a proven track record of securing various forms of statutory and public funding. You will also have good knowledge of current government and regional policy in the areas of regeneration and enterprise, heritage and environment, training and skills, and public health and be able to promote our work to key partners, including the Greater London Assembly, Transport for London and local authorities. We’ll expect you to have a degree in an appropriate discipline and demonstrate you are highly financially literate. Other key qualities we’re looking for include communication and presentation skills and accountability for managing £multi-million projects.

About us

One of the UK’s biggest charities, we maintain 2,000 miles of historic canals, rivers, docks and reservoirs, along with museums, archives and the country’s third largest collection of protected historic buildings – preserving them for future generations. We believe living waterways transform places and enrich lives. Achieving this vision will be a fascinating challenge. Come and be part of it.
