One in six people in the UK will have a disability in their lifetime and we want to make sure they have the opportunity to live their lives to their full potential.

Leonard Cheshire Disability (LCD) is the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of services for disabled people.  Our services include high-quality care and community support together with innovative projects supporting disabled people into education, employment and entrepreneurship.  Worldwide, our global alliance of Cheshire partners supports disabled people into education and employment, and works in more than 50 countries.

Executive Director Partnership Services

This is a hugely exciting opportunity to lead the creation of a new Directorate within LCD.  You will bring together internal expertise and new external relationships to develop significant partnerships that deliver innovative employment and sport services together with corporate and other funding that will position LCD as innovative and ‘best in class’ while achieving an annual income in this new Directorate of £15m by 2022.

You will have a significant influencing role at the highest level - working with key organisations to improve attitudes to disability and provide inclusive environments. You will develop large scale services for disabled people in employment, building on the success of our current programmes which include:

  • Can do

A programme for disabled people aged 10-35 offering support, information and training to enable them to build confidence and acquire skills by contributing to their local communities through volunteering;

  • Change 100

Which matches disabled university students and recent graduates to paid internship placements with employers;

  • Stelios Award for Disabled Entrepreneurs

This recognises the achievements of disabled entrepreneurs who have overcome challenges to set up their own businesses.

You will build and lead a highly effective Partnership Services team to grow the reach and impact of our partnerships and innovative projects to enable disabled people to live their lives to their full potential.

We seek candidates with exceptional commercial experience and well-honed negotiating skills that deliver effective long term relationships.  The ideal candidate will have a track record of creating significant new partnerships and initiatives while also building on and significantly growing what are already successful, innovative and award winning programmes.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the values and ethos of the charity.

Leonard Cheshire Disability welcomes applicants from all sections of the community.
