Freedom from Torture is the only organisation in the UK dedicated solely to the treatment of survivors of torture.

Torturers attempt to silence and break people. We help survivors to find their voices again and rebuild their lives in the safety of the UK.

Our team of dedicated professionals provide direct support to survivors including psychological therapy, physical health services, legal and welfare support, and expert medical reports for use in survivors' asylum claims. We also support other providers to deliver high quality rehabilitation services to survivors.

We campaign for national and global change, using evidence from our services and survivor voices to protect and promote survivors' rights and hold torturing states to account. We are proud to play a significant role in the global anti-torture movement. Survivors, active and empowered, are at the centre of all of our work.

None of this can happen without our vibrant community of supporters who help to create this change.

We are seeking an ambitious Director of Fundraising & Communications to grow Freedom from Torture's fundraised income, supporter base and public profile to fuel our new strategy to transform the lives of more survivors of torture in the UK and increase our impact in the global fight against torture.

A dynamic and growth-oriented fundraising leader with a truly impressive track record of inspiring teams to bring in higher levels of income, you will also have the flair and acumen to oversee our brand, communications and campaigns to drive donor acquisition and stewardship and add power to our influencing work.

You will be passionate and creative with a motivational leadership style that encourages team members to experiment and strive for the cutting edge across all areas of our fundraising and communications work.

You will lead from the front in cultivating and managing relationships with the highest value to this portfolio and serve as an active ambassador for us in the charity fundraising world.

Survivor empowerment is a core value of Freedom from Torture and you will have a special responsibility to champion this as part of our ethical approach to fundraising.

As part of our Senior Management Team, you will contribute to cross-organisational strategy-setting, operational planning and resource allocation, and support Freedom from Torture's effective governance.
