East Sussex Association of Blind and Partially Sighted People (ESAB) is a countywide charity that looks after the welfare of blind and partially sighted people in East Sussex, Brighton and Hove. We are moving into a new phase and are looking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Fundraiser to join our small band of dedicated staff and volunteers at our HQ in Hailsham, East Sussex.

The organisation provides a veriety of services including an equipment service, community workers, a range of training packages, social interaction and sports. We have in the region of 1700 members with ages ranging from 18 to 100.

We are a closenit team who all have the same ethos, our members come first in everything we do and we do whatever our members need and want us to do. We all work flexibly and we support eachother in our roles.

The main purposes of the role are to maximise fundraising opportunities from Trusts, Grants, Foundations and other relevant bodies and to put together a fundraising strategy to ensure long-term viability and sustainability.

Reporting and working directly with the CEO this new post will maximise, manage and monitor fundraising opportunities for ESAB. The post holder will have relevant experience and proof of success in this field. They will be proactive and enthusiastic and use their skills to deliver ambitious income targets.

A key part of the role will be to research and identify new Trusts and Foundations that have the potential to be long term, high donor opportunities for ESAB.

Writing a fundraising strategy will be an early part of the role along with research and identifying key target Trusts, Foundations and Grant givers.

The successful candidate will have at least three years’ experience as a fundraiser and proven success of producing in excess of £100,000 per year. They will be a member of the Institute of Fundraising and ideally qualified to the IOF Certificate level.
