If you are looking to shape a fundraising strategy and lead on delivering it, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our successful Commercial Development team. We support more than 1 million children to benefit from participating in our amazing Walk to School programme, and this dynamic role will explore alternative routes to fundraising in primary schools. You will need to develop and launch a range of routes to funding such as local business sponsorship, local events, community grants and foundations, and match funding from local government; supporting a core base of 200 schools to find funds to support their participation beyond the end of a national project. The post holder will need to engage a diverse set of external stakeholders successfully in order to identify appropriate routes to scale up from a local level, working with colleagues from across the organisation to deliver focused fundraising campaigns.

Previous experience of coordinating fundraising events and activities is essential.

Living Streets wants to create a walking nation, where everybody has the chance to gain from the health and social benefits this simple act can bring. Walking is also a vital ingredient of successful communities. Walkable towns and cities are often more vibrant socially and economically. Living Streets manages innovative national projects, working with schools, communities and workplaces to encourage more people to walk short journeys. WOW, our year-round walk to school challenge, is perhaps the most notable, capturing the imagination of children in over 4,000 schools. We work with local authorities to help them improve streets and neighbourhoods. And with our supporters we campaign for positive change and public policies that enliven our streets.

Join us and together we will create a walking nation.
