Caring is top of the news agenda night after night.  It affects us all, with 3 in 5 of us likely to become a carer at some point in our lives. Caring is rarely something you can plan for – illness or accident can turn any of us into a carer at any time.

Here at Carer Support Wiltshire we are proud of the positive difference we make to the lives of many carers as we follow our vision to create a caring community where Wiltshire recognises, values and supports its unpaid carers.

But we want to do more.  While carers’ needs are increasing, budgets are static and statutory support is out of reach for most.  Many carers have limited financial resources, and it’s the small things in life that give them some respite from their 24 hour caring role and in the end help them be better carers.

And that’s where you come in.  We are seeking an experienced Fundraising Development Manager to lead a small team of marketing and communications professionals.  You will help us respond to the growing numbers of carers coming forward for support while raising the profile of caring and the incredible contribution it makes to our communities in Wiltshire.  You are:

  • An experienced fundraising professional, possibly on your third or fourth job.
  • A strong warm communicator who has an empathy with or an understanding of caring and how it affects wider society.
  • Able to deliver a strategic approach to fundraising with strong business skills. A skilled number-cruncher, you are able to mine databases for the evidence to back applications, support donor retention and research and cultivate prospects.  You achieve set targets, motivated by our shared vision of creating a caring county.

You have extensive experience of and success in:

  • Building and nurturing new donor relationships with corporates and individual major donors
  • Trusts and foundations fundraising
  • Community fundraising

Outward-facing, you identify opportunities for organisational development and forge strong collaborative relationships both internally and externally.

In return, we offer a generous salary and holiday entitlement, contributory pension, flexible working, family (and carer)  friendly policies.  Above all, we offer a warm welcome in the beautiful county of Wiltshire.  We are a proactive outward-facing team.  A finalist in this year’s Health Service Journal awards, we are proud of our achievements.  We are rising to the challenges of a changing commissioning landscape, determined to deliver our mission to support unpaid carers in Wiltshire well, ensure that they have a voice in policy-making and their contribution to society is valued.

Led by a committed and experienced Board, you will join skilled and knowledgeable senior management team, and become part of a really dynamic workforce (paid and volunteer) committed to turning our mission into reality.
