Role purpose

Liaising with relevant personnel in the Fundraising, Finance and Ministry teams of the HTB Group ((Holy Trinity Brompton (HTB), Alpha International (AI), St Paul's Theological Centre (SPTC) and the Church Renewal Trust (CRT)) to produce clear and accurate objective-driven programme budgets, and reports of actual spending against original budgets, in a format required by donors and suitable for use in funding proposals, reports and other donor documentation.

Core elements include: (i) receiving and implementing instructions from the Fundraising team as to the requirement for itemised programme budgets in a specified objective-driven format required by donors for use in donor documentation, ensuring specified deadlines are met (ii) liaising with Ministry and Finance teams to collate budgets in the objective-driven format required by donors (as specified by the Fundraising team) in accordance with specified deadlines (iii) following liaison with the Fundraising team, ensuring that Ministry teams are notified of grants in response to proposals, post grant reporting requirements and the requirement to monitor spending against the budget formats specified in the funding proposal for the purpose of subsequent reporting (iv) liaising with Ministry and Finance teams to ensure timely reporting of itemised actual spend against original proposal budgets, in the format and according to deadlines required by donors and specified by the Fundraising team.

Essential Skills, knowledge and experience

  • A passion for the vision of the HTB Group.
  • Excellent numerical skills and a solid understanding (or ability to learn and develop understanding) of budgets insofar as they relate to funding proposals and reports.
  • Excellent verbal, written, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated, positive and proactive, with the ability to use own initiative, work across multiple projects simultaneously, assess, manage and prioritise a varied workload, and work to deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across different fields and teams.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs - in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Strong team player.
  • Discretion - understanding the need to keep donor information confidential.
  • Willingness to occasionally work outside standard office hours as required.
