Re~Cycle sources, tests and send used bicycles to communities in Africa and works with partners to provide training and support to ensure they are used sustainably. This work helps tens of the thousands of people every year to obtain a means of transport - ultimately improving their education and health access and livelihoods. Re~Cycle has grown significantly in the past few years, has an award-winning partnership with a major high street retailer, a number of trust funding partnerships and a recent successful national newspaper appeal.

The purpose of this newly-created role is to lead on the implementation and development of Re~Cycle's fundraising and marketing strategy to consolidate and sustain the organisation’s recent income growth and put the processes and tools in place enabling the organisation to find the resources needed for the next phase in its development. 

With responsibility for all financial and in-kind support, including bike donations, this varied role will initially focus on managing a portfolio of trusts and foundations as well as overseeing the corporate and community/events streams and diversifying income sources further. A key requirement of the role will be establishing good supporter care systems to maximise income opportunities. The successful candidate will manage a team of two part-time fundraisers; one dedicated to corporate partnerships and one to community and events, as well as a newly-created Communications Officer post.

Re~Cycle is based in Colchester, Essex, but you will have the option to work in our Brighton office or from home. You will be required to travel to Colchester or London once or twice a month for internal meetings in addition to meetings with donors throughout the UK.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in developing and implementing fundraising strategies, managing staff, generating income and achieving fundraising targets on a limited budget. It is also vital that the candidate has worked with and secured grants from trusts and statutory organisations and is comfortable networking and developing relationships with corporate donors. Finally, the successful candidate will be able to create effective fundraising and marketing campaigns and be comfortable using a range of tools to promote them to targeted audiences.
