Leighton House Museum, 12 Holland Park Road, West Kensington, LONDON, W14 8LZ

Arts and culture are at the heart of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and are part of what makes it an exceptional place to live and work.  We are now embarking on a major capital project at Leighton House Museum to complete the restoration of this stunning building and provide it with the facilities that will enable it to flourish into the future.

We are looking to appoint an experienced fundraiser to play a leading part in raising £1.5 million over two years towards the project costs and to cultivate the long-term funding partnerships that will support the Museum into the future.

You will take a leading role in refining and delivering the fundraising strategy, organising the campaign process and working closely with the Chairman of the Friends of Leighton House and the fundraising committee. You will think creatively in matching our offer to potential supporters to generate significant financial support, both in terms of capital and revenue.

You will be able to demonstrate a track record in raising significant sums from private individuals, trusts, foundations and commercial sponsors, ideally in relation to a capital appeal. You must also have excellent communication skills, whether writing compelling proposals or talking about our ambitions for the future, and work confidently with budgets, as well as the ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure. You will demonstrate thorough research skills and take a proactive approach to everything you do.

The post presents the opportunity to play a key role as part of a small but dedicated team in the transformation of the Museum. For an informal discussion, please contact Daniel Robbins, Senior Curator, on 020-7471-9152. We look forward to hearing from you.
