About us

Our vision is simple: we want a better world - where corruption is challenged and accountability prevails, all can thrive within the planet’s boundaries, and governments act in the public interest.

At Global Witness we investigate and campaign to stop human rights and environmental abuses caused by corruption and the exploitation of natural resources.

About the role

The Senior Development Officer role will be a linchpin in growing our ambitious individual major gifts programme.

You’ll identify, cultivate and develop new major prospect relationships through research, targeted communication and well-managed meetings and events.

You’ll also help steward our existing major donors, liaising with our campaign teams to provide relevant information and timely reports.

Finally, you’ll help with the overall smooth running of the Major Gift Team by providing efficient administration and database management.

About you

You’ll bring experience of managing relationships with senior people in a quick and target-driven environment.

We’ll be looking to you to identify new fundraising opportunities so a creative and entrepreneurial outlook is essential.

You’ll also use your experience of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines, to help us reach our ambitious fundraising goals.

Finally, collaborative by nature, you’ll work with a broad range of colleagues; from our campaigners through to our communications team.

What you can expect from us

We’ll reward you through a combination of exciting and creative work together with a sector competitive salary and benefits package, high levels of engagement and involvement, and a commitment to your development.

Benefits include a generous leave allowance, pension scheme and health insurance as well as opportunities to work flexibly in an engaging and friendly environment.

We aim to be a diverse and inclusive place to work.  We value new perspectives, original ideas and different ways of working. We believe that diverse views and experiences improve the way we do our work. We do our best to make our jobs accessible to all regardless of race, colour, religious belief, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, age, or other groups as protected by law.
