Head of Fundraising & Development

Working Families is recruiting an enthusiastic and dedicated Head of Fundraising & Development to manage its small fundraising team and lead on Major Donor fundraising.

Working Families is the UK’s leading work life balance charity. We help working parents and carers and their employers to find a better balance between responsibilities at home and work. We provide a dedicated helpline for parents and carers, undertake ground-breaking research and work with employers and government on promoting and implementing good working practices.

As part of an exciting and ambitious growth plan, we are looking for an exceptional individual to join the team to help us grow our fundraising income, including personally undertaking major donor fundraising, to enable us to support our work with families and employers, as well as our research, policy and campaigning work. 

With proven experience in major donor fundraising and achieving financial targets, you will have experience managing and motivating a small fundraising team to meet ambitious growth and financial targets.

The successful applicant will also be responsible for the implementation and review of our current three-year fundraising strategy, to develop and deliver year-on-year sustainable income growth.

As part of the charity’s development, you will develop and deliver client-centred relationship management, integrated with the Employer Services team and the Family Friendly Working Scotland team, to maximise income across the charity.  Finally, as a member of the senior management team, you will contribute to strategic plans, direction and decision-making and to internal leadership.

Using your excellent relationship skills, you will work with our high-profile mainly City-based Changemakers and major donors; work with a new, highly-motivated Board of Trustees and a committed CEO.
