Family Fund is the UK’s largest charity providing grants for families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people – providing over 89,000 grants and services worth over £36 million in 2015/16.

As Head of Fundraising your key responsibility would be to work with the Director of Development and Engagement to deliver our strategy to source new funding.

Leading a new team you will oversee the growth, diversification and sustainability of our funding base. In addition to developing and maintaining oversight of governance arrangements and processes related to fundraising, ensuring best use of available resource to maximise income, your other key responsibilities as Head of Fundraising include:

  • Build relationships to increase awareness of Family Fund and maximise income
  • Project manage submission of compliant, high quality bids, proposals and funding applications
  • Provide hands-on direction and leadership to ensure the team achieves income targets.

Educated to degree level and with significant demonstrable experience, you have an innovative approach, are results driven, with strong leadership skills. Your excellent communication and influencing skills compliment your ability to identify and secure new opportunities. A first-class negotiator, listener and creative thinker, you’re a great team player, able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders. In addition to superb organisational, planning and prioritising skills, you can offer:

  • Proven track record in creating and writing compelling bids proposals
  • A strong understanding of fundraising communications and engagement channels, particularly digital
  • Open and participative management style

This post is based in York with travel throughout the UK.
