We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Head of Fundraising to lead a small but established team. With new branding in place and inspiring developments in the pipeline, you will be joining the charity at a very exciting time. Based at our head office in High Wycombe, Bucks (only 25 minutes from London Marylebone), this role will have the responsibility to grow the charity’s voluntary income, from its current £1.3 million level.

The successful candidate will be someone looking for a challenge in an ambitious and supportive organisation. As the charity has a large membership and supporter database, together with a network of local groups, experience of developing individual and community giving will be of great importance. You will also support the charity’s plans in developing Major Donor, Charitable Trust and Corporate Partnership streams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage, lead and motivate the fundraising team to deliver stretching income targets

• Support the development and implementation of the fundraising strategy

• Manage the fundraising programmes including setting ambitious yet achievable income targets for each team member and the team overall, expenditure budgets, plans and strategy

• Analyse and review all fundraising streams to ensure they are fit for purpose, deliver agreed levels of income and are enabled to develop as per the strategy

• Develop marketing and communication plans internally and externally to support individual work streams and embed a culture of fundraising

• Lead on the activity to diversify income from individuals and community organisations

• Monitor all fundraising activities and ensure that they comply with the current regulations including the Fundraising Regulator, ICO and GDPR

• Work closely with peers across the organisation, especially: Head of Membership; Head of Communications; Head of Volunteers and the Director of Commercial Services to maximise the opportunities for fundraising from our members and supporters

• Take responsibility for developing and sustaining a culture of achievement and accountability

• Manage performance within the fundraising team and be responsible for recruitment, development, training and annual appraisals

• Day-to-day supervision of Volunteering team staff as guided by the Head of Volunteering Development

Knowledge and Experience:

Essential:

• Successful fundraising experience from a variety of methods

• Clear competency in budget management and the interpretation of financial information and reports

• Using and manipulating data for fundraising

• Motivating and leading a team to achieve results within budget and resource constraints

• Recognising stakeholder needs and the ability to develop relevant strategies

• Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience

• Knowledge of charity law and best fundraising practice

• Building relationships with key supporters

• Working with a CRM system

• MS office

• Developing and managing internal and external relationships

Desirable:

• Membership of relevant professional body

• Project management experience

• Experience of working with volunteers successfully in a fundraising environment
