Hours: 14 hours (2 days) per week

Reports to: Fundraising Manager

Overall Aim

  • To maximise income through implementing Housing for Women’s fundraising strategy to raise funds so that targets are met or exceeded.
  • To develop a portfolio of strong corporate partnerships, maximising all entry points including sponsorship and events. 
  • To achieve the income targets set for this stream of fundraising.
  • To develop communication materials tailored to the needs of corporate donors.
  • To organise networking events and activities for Corporates as appropriate and in line with strategic and operational plans

Key Responsibilities

  1. Generate income from the corporate sector by promoting the work of Housing for Women, building a reputation as a desirable charity for corporates to work with.
  2. Generate income by organising fundraising events throughout the year.
  3. Identify new corporate partnership opportunities and drive growth from existing partners.
  4. Work with the Communications Officer and as part of the Fundraising team to develop creative and effective marketing and bid application material, to ensure that all applications, proposals and pitches have the greatest probability of success.
  5. Assist in maintaining an effective Fundraising section for Housing for Women’s website to raise brand awareness and encourage corporate involvement.
  6. Identify and develop opportunities to grow income from the corporate sector across all areas of fundraising, including sponsorship for events, gifts in kind (including donations of products for welcome packs) pro bono work, team building, mentoring, free use of venues.
  7. Undertake competitor analysis and research into potential funding opportunities.
  8. Provide information, monitoring, and reports as required to the Fundraising Manager and colleagues cross departmentally.

Key Results

  1. Secure new funding from corporate fundraising streams including pro bono, gifts in kind and other forms of donation.
  2. Excellent working relationships maintained and developed with key corporate funders, ensuring future support.
  3. Excellent monitoring and evaluation available for corporate funders and organisational use.

Other Duties

  1. To act in accordance with the aims of Housing for Women.
  2. Attend meetings, conferences, courses and training sessions as required
  3. To undertake other duties reasonably expected of the post
  4. To attend occasional evening and weekend meetings and events.

 

Role Experience, Knowledge and Skills Profile Essential

Experience & qualifications

  • Good standard of education to at least A level standard
  • Significant experience in a corporate fundraising, sales, events or similar role
  • Evidence of significant fundraising from a variety of sources
  • Evidenced experience in building relationships with and stewarding key funders
  • Educated to graduate level
  • Experience of working with corporate donors and accessing pro bono opportunities
  • Familiarity with community giving behaviour and event planning

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the voluntary sector, including funding issues and opportunities
  • Understanding of the housing sector
  • Understanding of gender based violence

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written,
  • Ability to write persuasively and effectively to a variety of audiences in order to solicit support
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Strong planning skills and ability to deliver to deadlines
  • Computer literate particularly Microsoft Office; Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good level of numeracy and ability to produce financial information, budgets and monitoring reports.
  • Strong 'people skills' for building relationships and networking with external stakeholders, team members, colleagues and key contacts
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to multi task
  • Creative and innovative approach to corporate fundraising

Experience working with the Salesforce fundraising database.

  • Experience organising fundraising events.
